This disc consists of music from two west coast cities that is close to my heart. On two different west coasts. One is Gothenburg in Sweden, where I am from, the second being San Francisco in the US, where I live. They are far apart, but I wanted to combine them into a musical journey. There are a lot of good music from both places, so I had to collect them and put them on one disc. There are some different genres: Metal, Synthwave, Pop, Rock, Electronica, etc. I will do one Gbg artist and then an SF artist, so it's every other song. The photos on the disc are the Älvsborgsbron crossing Göta Älv at the top and the Golden Gate Bridge crossing the Golden Gate at the bottom.
Heartbeats - José González (2003 - Gbg)
Kites - Geographer (2010 - SF)
Pass This On - The Knife (2003 - Gbg)
In Blur - Deafheaven (2021 - SF)
Deafheaven is considered being a blackgaze band (black metal and shoegazing mix), but this song is from their latest album and it's much softer than their usual stuff. The band started in SF, but they are now living in LA.
Cotton Skies - Westkust (2019 - Gbg)
Ease - Whirr (2014 - SF)
Sister Surround - The Soundtrack Of Our Lives (2001 - Gbg)
Red Eyes And Tears - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (2001 - SF)
Shoreline - Broder Daniel (2003 - Gbg)
Broder Daniel was a huge band in the Swedish indie scene around Y2K and this song is their most famous one. On festivals in Sweden, it has become a tradition to shout “Play Shoreline”, regardless of what band is on stage.
Father of All… - Green Day (2020 - SF)
Fight Song - Sister Sin (2012 - Gbg)
Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica (1986 - SF)
Cloud Connected - In Flames (2002 - Gbg)
Awake - Tycho (2014 - SF)
Forget About You - Sally Shapiro (2021 - Gbg)
Running in the Night - FM-84 (2016 - SF)
What's That Perfume That You Wear? - Jens Lekman (2017 - Gbg)
Don't Stop Believin' - Journey (1981 - SF
This doesn't need much introduction, it's a cheesy happy song, but it's not bad. The band was founded in -73, and still play (reformed, though). Still with the original singer.
Enjoy!
